To measure the impact of this wind park on life in the sea and on the seafloor, we need to know what the situation is now, before development begins. Therefore, we are conducting research at sea within and around the future location of the wind park. The research methods we use are varied: we take samples from the sea floor, make video recordings and determine if there are life forms such as tube worms and other important animals and plants living in the area. We perform research on the flight behaviour of birds and bats, study videos from baited cameras (that attract marine animals to food bait) and test water samples for the presence of DNA from fish and other sea animals. We do all this to gather as complete a picture as possible of the current sea and seafloor biodiversity in the area.
