Quality assurance and certification

Quality assurance

Our four criteria for quality are:
  • Accurate: our findings are repeatable and free of errors.
  • Thorough: according to the latest knowledge and research protocols.
  • Apt: in line with the requirements of the client.
  • Practical: feasible, realistic and address the research question.

Waardenburg Ecology has held a certified quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001 since 1998. We have held an ISO 17025 certificate (L572) for hydrobiological research since 2013. All our field workers hold a Safety for Operational Supervisors (SOS-SSC) certificate and we are working towards company-wide SSC certification.

Beyond expectations

We continue to carry out satisfaction surveys using a recognised online system. Both our customers and our employees are asked to evaluate how they have experienced the project and collaboration with the aim of improving our service even further. Although we pride ourselves on having a consistent customer satisfaction rating of over 95%, we continue to look for ways to improve our service even further.

Working environment

We are committed to providing a safe and pleasant working environment for our employees, as well as sub-contractors and temporary staff. After all, good working conditions ensure optimal performance throughout the company. We strive to maintain the health of our employees and support and reintegrate employees who have been on leave due to illness or other reasons. Together with our occupational health and safety advisors (ArboNed), we are working to limit ill health and further improve reintegration. Every three years, we offer employees a preventive medical examination, and where appropriate, employees receive periodic medical examinations and safety training. Our fieldwork clothing is tick-resistant and we are a partner of the annual Lyme desease screening programme run by Innatoss.

Safety

Safety is very important within Waardenburg Ecology. Our safety protocols are regularly communicated to all employees. Toolbox sessions are held when required and workplace inspections are carried out to increase safety awareness. The principles of last minute risk assessment (LMRA) are applied in our projects, and materials and equipment are periodically inspected and working safety is a permanent item on the agenda in team meetings.

By continually evaluating our experiences we increase the awareness of our employees and continuously improve the health and safety of our operations.
