April 27, 2025 - Vroege Vogels (Early Birds), a Dutch television program that focuses on animal welfare, the environment, climate and nature in the Netherlands, followed Koosje Lamers, Cas Eikenaar, and Bas Engels. They talked about the lesser black-backed gulls and herring gulls that live here, and the migratory birds that pass through the area twice a year. But they also delved deeper into our use of bird radar to detect flight movements. With this data, we advise the wind farm on how best to use the turbines' shutdowns to protect birds. October 2024 - On October 10, 2024, our very own Ruben Fijn will graduate from the University of Amsterdam with his dissertation 'Tracking Terns. Year-round movement ecology of Sandwich Terns in a changing marine environment'.

October 2024 - A video and article have been published about the ZWEMT project of TKI Offshore Energy; 'Higher effectiveness of black blades.' September 2023 - The collaboration will ensure ecology is given a prominent place in the preparation, construction and operation of the first wind farm in the world that will be in harmony with nature.

In the middle of the Markermeer is a small but special nature reserve: the Trintelzand. Vroege Vogels, a dutch television program, accompanied a number of our ecologists and made a nice report of it.
